It is a good idea for an adult to drink about 1.2 litres (6-8 glasses) of fluid per day, as recommended by the UK government. The optimum drink is water, straight from the tap but it is easy and quick to use fruits, herbs and spices etc to make alternative thirst quenching beverages.
