Future Plans - Yorkshire Reunited

Yorkshire Federations' Centenary and Competition

So what do we have planned for the future?
2020 is a year of remembrance and celebrations for the ‘Yorkshire’ Federations as it would have been its Centenary year. In 1983 the Yorkshire Federation was divided into five Federations – East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire East, North Yorkshire West, South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire. To celebrate the Federations are coming together and we will each have a major event planned with dates throughout the year which Members will be able to attend across the county.

There is to be a Centenary Celebration in St. Michael le Belfry (directly next to York Minster in the centre of the city) on 29th February 2020 and an Inter-Federation Tree Planting event at Bilton Beck in November 2020 – details to follow. Dates not to be missed and something to look forward to!

Centenary Competition
For all our enterprising members who like a competition we invited you to design a product that could be produced commercially to commemorate the Yorkshire Federations' centenary.

Being in a Digital Team

Digital Team Leaders

In 2012 the NFWI Training Committee trained 66 Digital Champions, and since then there have been many digital activities around the federations. A recent survey identified gaps, or new people, in this role, and the Training Committee reviewed the support offered. The name has been changed to Digital Team Leader who will be helped by Digital Team Mates. In order to attract members to take on these roles, a new eLearning object has been developed: ‘So you would like to be a Digital Team Leader’. On completing this online eLearning object, members will be asked to contact their federation office to apply for the role. A role description has been developed to help federations select the right members for this role. The eLearning is available on the WI Moodle – All WI members have access to ‘Being in a Digital Team’. If you are interested in being part of the WYFWI Digital Team then please contact the Federation Office for further information.
