Friday 7 February 2020 - Flicknic - Downton Abbey

Chesterfield Town WI had an enjoyable and informative talk from Digital PCSO Sarah Dufton about how to keep  safe online.
She shared a lot of useful resources  and a few key links are listed below:
* Take the digital mot for tips tailored to your usage: www.saferderbyshire.gov.uk/mot
* Check if your email address has ever been compromised at: www.haveibeenpwned.com
* Download the HollieGuard personal safety app to alert designated contacts if you're in danger. Find out more: https://hollieguard.com
* Sign up to www.derbyshirealert.co.uk for alerts relevant to your local area

Don't forget to the top 3 things  to prevent 80% of cybercrime:
* Passwords - don't use the same password for multiple accounts. The latest recommendation is 3 random words e.g. teaCatBiscuit2
* Antivirus - on any device that accesses the internet
* Updates - they can be annoying but they're necessary to fill cracks in your online safety wall

Some Media Hub Sub-committee members and friends visited the Radio Nottingham and East Midlands Today Studios. Chrissie read the news about a 115 year old hot cross bun and they all sat on the red sofa to see how the weather is presented by Anna Church. The gallery area was really interesting, Eastenders was showing and the local TV presenters were ready and waiting for their next slots. Could this be Chrissies next big challenge!

At DFWI today members got together for a Flicknic (picnic & film). The film was 'The lady in a van' starring Maggie Smith and Alan Bennett - they were brilliant! Derbyshire House is looking very festive with Christmas Trees and decorations. The 'non-alcoholic' punch with festive cakes were very welcoming and delicious! Watch out in Link and on DFWI Social Media for news of the next Flicknic
